Happy New Month everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed the holiday weekend! It rained half of ours and the other half was COLD! But hey, it really could be snowing right now, so I won't complain! I've been trying to find the right spot to shoot this beautiful velvet jumpsuit for-like-EVER and it hit me to travel down to the DIA to get these off!

So let's give the skinny on this jumpsuit! I absolutely ADORE it!! However, the company that I purchased this jumpsuit from is full of pure horse manure!! I purchased a dress and this jumpsuit from this nameless establishment for my company's Christmas party last year. I ordered both items in enough time for delivery and return if needed. The company posted the dress (of my dreams) on their Instagram page with the WRONG caption on it which led me to order the incorrect dress. I contacted them immediately (within 24 hours after noticing that a lot of their followers were saying that it was the wrong dress title) to let them know of the mistake. They NEVER got back to me (even though I reached out to them in every way I could find AND multiple times) until after about a month later. My company party had come and gone and I had already disputed it with PayPal. They told me it was basically my fault for ordering the wrong dress and I couldn't return it, but I reminded them that they put the incorrect name on their social media channel which led to the wrong dress being ordered. After working with PayPal for a few more weeks, I was refunded in full my money for their not wanting to correct the issue. I've worked in some form of Customer Service my entire adult life and while I do believe the customer ISN'T always right, there should be some form of meeting in the middle, especially if it was a company error. Needless to say, I won't give them the honor of mentioning where this came from because I would hate for someone to go through what I did with them. This is on top of giving them another chance for messing up an order a long time ago AND them not mailing out their customer orders on time around the holidays! It's really sad because they have over 11 million followers on one channel alone, so you'd think their customer service would amount to something! NOPE!
I decided to shoot these on the back steps of the Detroit Institute of Arts over the weekend. I've been wanting to do some photos here for FOREVER and just never have. The DIA is such a beautiful museum and I will definitely be coming to visit it more often this Spring and Summer. I had to trust my son to take these since I left a part of my tripod at home and I must say that he did a great job!
