GOOD EATS | MAD HATTER BISTRO in BIRMINGHAM, MI

“If you don't know where you are going, any road can take you there”
I realize that this ISN'T the best angle that I should shoot at but the idea behind hubby's thinking was great! This post serves as the introduction to my GOOD EATS segment that's new to Birth of a Fashion Blogger. There's absolutely more to life than just good clothes and I plan on scouring my area (and traveling to some others in the future) to try out and share my thoughts on restaurants that are new to my taste palette.

First up is the cute and quaint restaurant nestled in Birmingham, Mi named Mad Hatter Bistro. I first heard of this eatery from the infamous Seoung (pronounced Sung) of Chow Down Detroit! Seoung travels all over the state of MI (and occasionally visits others too) to keep us in the loop of what's either opening soon or already established locations that we dare not bypass! I found his food adventures originally on Instagram, but he's all over the place 9YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and he's a blogger too!). If you LOVE food (who doesn't) or just enjoy the art of food photography, check out Chow Down Detroit! (pic heavy post guys)

So, since y'all know I'm all about my fashion, I couldn't let this go without sharing what we wore!  We kept it casual with Caryss and I semi #twinning with denim overalls and rose gold shoes.  Cal and hubby are wearing blue tops and khaki colored bottoms (which wasn't planned at all 🤷🏾‍♀️).

Me | overalls: justfab || top: old || shoes: shoedazzle || watch: jord || earrings: walmart
Caryss | overalls: fabkids || top: target || bag: justfab || shoes: champs
Cal | top + shorts: macy's || shoes: footaction
Hubby | top: jc penney || pants: macy's || shoes: finish line

So, anyone who's close to me knows that I love ANY and EVERY thing related to Alice in Wonderland! I've always been a fan of the tale and the revamp of the story in 2010 with Johnny Depp has to be my favorite rendition of it. It has a certain darkness behind it and I'm here for it!

The Mad Hatter Bistro has just enough Alice to appeal to everyone. Not too overdone to where you think you are at a child's birthday party but enough to take your imagination there! I wish I would've gotten a photo of the couch when you first walk in the door but it was occupied and I missed a photo op with the bathroom (totally cutesy guys, I'm not a weirdo, lol).

They also have a downstairs area where you can host an event for up to 30 guests and it's just like falling down the rabbit hole guys (which it is so cleverly named)!  Absolutely LOVE it!!

Ahhhh, the food, the real reason we came, right? I can say that I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my meal and my husband and kiddos were too! We had the pleasure of being waited on by the lovely Genevieve and she was a great hostess! She greeted us quick, gave us time to figure out what we wanted since it was our first time there and didn't rush us even though they were filling up quickly (reservation highly recommended)!

Our reservation was at 12:30 on Saturday, so our choices came from their Weekend Brunch menu.  My husband had the Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast w/ scrambled eggs and sausage, Caryss and I had the Red Velvet Pancakes (I had sausage and she had bacon) and my son Cal had regular pancakes with sausage. Y'all, everything was AMAZING!!! And I'm not just saying this (because we did pay for this out of our pockets) so YASSS, this is genuine!!

With all of the research I did on this restaurant before we came, I anticipated it being the amount that we paid, I was off about $5 (not including the tip).  Not the cheapest restaurant for Saturday morning brunch but for the atmosphere and the taste of the food, it was definitely worth it and we will most certainly be back again!!  The only downer was that I later learned that we could've saved 20% on our bill by showing them that I "LIKE" their Facebook page (which OF COURSE I do because I've stalked them religiously over the past few months 😩), but that's okay, water under the bridge!  If you are local and want to know what to expect to pay, here are their LunchWeekend Brunch and Daily Dinner menus.    To accommodate the kiddos, here are the Children's Lunch/Dinner and Children's Saturday/Sunday Brunch menus.  They also have a menu for their Tea Parties, which are held between the hours of 11-4 and you NEED a reservation to have one!

I had a great experience here at the Mad Hatter Bistro!  Everyone there from the time we arrived until we left were nothing but nice, the atmosphere took me exactly where I expected to go, the food was AMAZING for the price and I most certainly cannot wait to go back!  Thanks to Genevieve for the hospitality and not looking at me weird when I pulled out my camera to start snapping and thanks Mad Hatter Bistro for this memory!

Be back next month with a new restaurant!

Happy Monday Loves! 💙 See you next week with my 1st Fall look of the season (😱)!
